What it does

Sunday-night NFIRS submission, retired.

Federal NFIRS reporting is moving to NERIS in 2026. Most NFIRS RMS vendors are scrambling. Watchroom built against the NERIS V1 schema from day one — when your state cuts over, you don't.

Past that, NFIRS is the records side of the same data the CAD already captures. Drafts come in pre-populated. The records officer reviews, signs, locks. The state submission file generates from a button click, not a Friday-afternoon CSV dance.

How it works

Three things that change.

All 11 NFIRS modules Basic, Fire, Structure, Civilian Casualty, Apparatus, Personnel, Arson, EMS, Hazmat, Wildland, Juvenile — only the modules that apply for the incident type surface.
Sign, lock, amend Once signed and locked, the report is immutable. Amendments are tracked in a separate amendment record — the original is preserved for legal defensibility.
State submission, on a button Generate the .NFIRS XML or NERIS JSON your state expects. Batch submit by date range. State acknowledgment files imported back automatically.
