What it does

Career shifts + volunteer on-call, same calendar.

Combination departments run both a career shift schedule and a volunteer on-call rotation. Most scheduling tools handle one model. Watchroom handles both — and shows them together so the captain on Charlie shift can see which volunteers are on-call for tonight's mutual aid.

Calendar view, iCal feed for member phones, callback workflow when a shift opens, standby coverage when someone's on bereavement. Built for the way depts actually staff.

How it works

Three things that change.

Career + volunteer modes Career shift rotations (Detroit, Berkeley, Modified Detroit, Custom). Volunteer on-call rotations. Both visible on the same calendar.

Callback management Shift opens (sick, comp time, training). Callback request goes to qualified members. First-accept-wins, audit trail.

iCal feed Per-member iCal URL. Subscribe in Google Calendar / Apple Calendar / Outlook. Shift updates push to the phone.

Talks to every other module.

No CSV exports, no batch jobs, no reconciling two systems by hand. When something happens in one module, the others already know.

Roster & HR Member shift assignments live on the roster profile. Qualifications drive callback eligibility. Hours Tracker Shift hours flow into the total hours tracker as a separate source category. CAD On-shift / on-call members show in the CAD response panel when the tone drops.
